I think gamedevs who want to seriously opine on whether a game is utilizing gambling mechanics should be required to read at least a little bit about actual gambling design first instead of just going "it has cards/dice and I don't like it, this is sufficient for a moral crusade"

can't people just enjoy things if they think they'll enjoy them? I've always felt this way about being fans of things where it has to be your identity if you like something or not and that decides what other things you're allowed to like or not. and this is a feeling from before social media.
