Today I got a rejection for a job application that has demanded quite a lot of effort. And I had been quite sure to at least make it to the second round based on what I've sent in. Alas - nope, nothing career wise ever works out for me. ➡️

I got my boss a Tim Key book for his birthday saying that it's my favourite book. A week later he excitedly said he's got the perfect book for me and gave me The Little Book of Unsuspected Subversion. I do like it, but mainly I'm chuffed about the level of intellectuality he seems to assume me on.

I've lost a game of captcha. First round went: zebra crossings>fail Second round went: motorbikes>traffic light>stairs>motorbike>traffic lights>zebra crossings>fail Login blocked, feeling sad and got to call support now.

I wanted to not bother with this world cup mostly. But at this point, living in a neighbourhood that apparently got chosen by fans, 3 hours into the celebrations with the car horns and fireworks not noticeably abating, I'll have to admit it is getting difficult to fully ignore.

I've realised that I've been working in theatre/theatre-related fields for 17 years now, which means this year it's officially for more than half of my life.

Turns out the best thing I can do for my orchid is leave it the fuck alone for at least two weeks. Just go away. To a different country ideally. I shall try the strategy with other responsibilities.

White orchid on a windowsill with a total of 10-12 buds on multiple branches.

I'm on holiday in a village by the sea and people greet people when they walk past each other. You know, as in everyone says hello to everyone whether you know them or not. So I feel constantly embarrassed for my rudeness for forgetting.

🧡THANK YOU🧡 Thank you everyone for your support and you generous donations, I managed to get round in 3hrs 58mins - the course was brutally hilly and it was so hot, getting under 4hrs feels like a real achievement - more importantly I raised £1,875 which was kind of the point🧡

I've found an occasion to post about my April taskmaster thing from 2022. So by law it won't go without reposting the best point&click game I've ever made over night: larsum.com/april3/ (To this day I consider the overall puzzle through all 10 tasks in that challenge the best thing I've ever made.)

GrEGG was the basis for the @occasionaltasking.bsky.social trophy for the April round 2022. Which @ceri.io secured on Discord and I'm quite sure @lilywhereami.bsky.social won on Twitter.

Golden egg cup with Greg Davies's face on it. It looks satisfyingly like a trophy. And it comes with a golden spoon with a stick figure on it. Face on the top, holding a clipboard in his hand.

I've switched my phone to greyscales to see if that helps reducing the screen time a bit. First impression after a day is that it just gives the apps a hint of a fancy retro vibe but has no other effect.
