Today I got a rejection for a job application that has demanded quite a lot of effort. And I had been quite sure to at least make it to the second round based on what I've sent in. Alas - nope, nothing career wise ever works out for me. ➡️

Another year, another day one. No stress ear pain yet, but I did work for 13 hours, had absolutely no time to eat and I think if a printer would approach me right now I would viciously attack it whether it's willing to connect to a computer or not. So I'm on my way there.

I got my boss a Tim Key book for his birthday saying that it's my favourite book. A week later he excitedly said he's got the perfect book for me and gave me The Little Book of Unsuspected Subversion. I do like it, but mainly I'm chuffed about the level of intellectuality he seems to assume me on.
I've lost a game of captcha. First round went: zebra crossings>fail Second round went: motorbikes>traffic light>stairs>motorbike>traffic lights>zebra crossings>fail Login blocked, feeling sad and got to call support now.
I wanted to not bother with this world cup mostly. But at this point, living in a neighbourhood that apparently got chosen by fans, 3 hours into the celebrations with the car horns and fireworks not noticeably abating, I'll have to admit it is getting difficult to fully ignore.
I've realised that I've been working in theatre/theatre-related fields for 17 years now, which means this year it's officially for more than half of my life.
Turns out the best thing I can do for my orchid is leave it the fuck alone for at least two weeks. Just go away. To a different country ideally. I shall try the strategy with other responsibilities.
Couldn't think of the English word chatting to @joyousechidna.bsky.social earlier and described seals as: the mammals that get eaten by orcas. Which instantly did the trick, but I still feel like I've been a bit disrespectful towards seals.

Pia Schwierz@larsum.com · 2mo agoI was in a play of a friend in 2012. None of the 5 people on stage knew who was the murderer until the reveal at the end. The title was an anagram with a clue. After the first night he revealed there were different ways to solve the anagram and each of the 5 shows would have a different ending. Fun.

He's on his way as we speak. Despite his terrible attitude on the pitch he's a properly decent guy. His reports during training were a delight. So why not push that charity a bit further.

I've switched my phone to greyscales to see if that helps reducing the screen time a bit. First impression after a day is that it just gives the apps a hint of a fancy retro vibe but has no other effect.
