I wouldn’t be a bit surprised. And all the same lobby journalists will approve.
He's about to Introduce Epstein Associates to his government. Maybe he'll even bring Mandelson back?

NO WAY!!! Thanks Gary. I do believe in miracles when it comes to lost recordings. Recorded on Friday 25 Nov 1966 in BBC TV Centre studio 4, and broadcast on BBC 2 14 Dec 1966
Ach, you know what? Why not. Here’s Alan Bennett’s closing monologue from ‘On the Margin’, missing for nearly 60 years, and found on a Sony CV2000 tape in the Galton and Simpson archive You, dear viewer, are one of the few people ever to have seen this. Enjoy! discover.york.ac.uk/collections/...
We very much enjoyed @gardencourtlaw.bsky.social infographic explaining the rather convoluted efforts that the state has gone to to supress juries and persecute Rajiv Menon KC.
What the hell is the BBC 6pm news doing leading with Farage's clickbait about using the Royal Navy to stop immigrants? An absurd soundbite from a tiny party with a disgraced leader and that's the most important news in the UK today? Dear God. The rot has truly gone deep.
What more fitting way to remember Rod Liddle’s life and work than by making nasty jokes about someone who can’t answer back
Really shocked that Rosie, who wants to protect women, accidentally befriended a man who beat his wife and wrote about wanting to shag teenage girls.
Dear god
Things I and friends have done to calm an angry abusive man from further escalating and killing us or our children: -Smiled -Kept normal schedules in order not to trigger a fight -Appeased with kind acts (cooking, cleaning, favors) -Forced friendly tones and words
Rep. Max Miller: "My former wife has claimed that during a custody exchange at my home that day, I assaulted her…If I had assaulted her, would she have offered to cook me dinner six days later?"
Since we're relitigating pandemic discourse. If you hadn't already clocked Starmer was an old school reactionary parachuted in to front the Labour right swindle to crush the left, his pathetic support of *Boris Johnson* & his deadly handling of the pandemic response was an obv & early give away
The police have lost the support of the public. The courts are overwhelmed and unable to cope. Prosecutors are signing papers through gritted teeth. The Attorney General can’t sign forms quickly enough. @AndyBurnham - Lift The Ban on Palestine Action. Now. We do not comply.
also if I log onto x now I am immediately served the most bizarre pro-ana content you can imagine. not that I can’t appreciate a line like “rub yo clih while starveeen, angel” for its literary value but yeah that place needs to be nuked from orbit
Around 50 arrested so far outside Westminster Magistrate’s Court as campaign to lift the ban on Palestine Action escalates today. Over 100 people are risking 14 year prison sentences by inviting support for a proscribed group. Full story here: defendourjuries.net/press-releas... photo Amelia Halls
The latest annual data from the Independent Office for Police Conduct covering 2025/26 shows 27 people died in and following police custody, up from 18 last year. Of 12 people subjected to the use of force, 10 were physically restrained by the police and 5 were subject to the use of leg restraints.
Do the police generally warn people not to commit terrorism because they’ll be arrested if they do? And if they don’t, would we say this is different because it’s deeply idiotic, as well as insulting and insanely authoritarian
If Andy Burnham’s government wants courts to prosecute individuals under the Terrorism Act for holding pieces of paper then we are going to make it as inconvenient and expensive as possible Saving Lives Is Not Terrorism. End the use of terrorism law against people of conscience.
Well this is just lovely - last night's Front Row with Samira talking to Graeme Garden about Bill Oddie.
Front Row - Bill Oddie, remembered by his friend Graeme Garden - BBC Sounds

It’s astonishing how liberalism in Britain just laid down and died, probably around the time the spooks went to the Guardian office and smashed those hard drives. If this had happened in the 2000s, half of the press and parliament would’ve been up in arms. Now, hoping it all just goes away, at best
Very honoured to get that gig. Very sad to have lost two Goodies. Very glad that wonderful Graeme is still with us. You can listen here shows.acast.com/rhlstp/episo...

I am so glad I got to see Bill, Tim and Graeme being interviewed by you in Bristol in 2019. It is sad that Bill Oddie has joined Tim Brooke-Taylor on the three-seater bicycle in the sky so soon.
Bill Oddie, what a lovely bloke. He wrote us a letter when we started making The Young Ones, wishing us the very best, and warning us against interference from higher up. He didn’t know anyone in the cast personally. It just came out of the blue. Lovely thing to do.
Judging by the recent appointees the obvious choice is Itamar Ben-Gvir
The Labour Party still hasn’t appointed a party chair. Keeping the seat open for SKS?
Over and above everything else, Bill Oddie gave me this song, and I dream of the original tape one day turning up in a BBC vault somewhere. youtu.be/TPy5Wsr7jrM?...

On bumping into Bill Oddie at the local North London recycling centre. Michael Palin’s Diary, 1998:
Farewell Bill, most radical of the Goodies. Present at Grosvenor Square with Tariq & Vanessa. Turned his harassment by the Met into slapstick TV comedy for kids. Angry, hairy, furiously talented.
