This is a sadistic level of contempt for Democratic voters and what they clearly want. I swear they get off to this. A ratio like this should inspire a deep crisis of confidence, but it will instead be interpreted as evidence Schiff is willing to make “hard choices”

Post from Senator Adam Schiff calling for Republicans and Democrats to work together to bring “movie magic” back to America.

Occasional reminder that there’s no, “it’s too late, its over” for anthropogenic climate change. Every molecule of CO2 that doesn’t go into the atmosphere makes a difference. Preventing 0.1 degree of warming makes a difference. Every bit of climate resilience we build together makes a difference.

People like this often sound uber-woke when they’re talking about nonbinary transmasculine people but when they talk about binary trans women they might as well be quoting The Transsexual Empire. It’s literally the same arguments about trans women enforcing gender TERFs were making 45 years ago.

I'm not trying to be "revolutionary" or "subversive" by being trans. I had gender dysphoria, and this is what fixed it. I wanted to be a girl as long as I remember. I'm way happier now that I can be. I'm not trying to make a political statement about gender by existing.

That "cringe" nonbinary xenogender
genderfuck therian who uses
neopronouns and may or may not go
on HRT while being loudly, proudly
themselves will always be more
revolutionary and subversive than a
binary trans person who aggressively
reproduces the cis status quo and
shames anyone who doesn't do the
same.

In general, calling these interventions "gender affirming care" has never fostered any empathy for trans people. Rather, it is used to pejoratively liken cis people to us, reducing trans people to punchline, while also regarding our healthcare as both frivolous and shallow, vanity not necessity.

I just saw "I'm staying skeptical because I remember what happened to Emmet Till" over on reddit. And there you have it! The worst possible faux-woke misogynistic (not to mention racist) response to this whole mess. We can pack it in, discourse over.

Predicting it now: McConnell is alive but never going to wake up and they’re hiding it because “see, you can’t replace him, he’s alive” is deeply fucking embarrassing in light of that. Honestly that sort of “akshually we technically can do this” BS is perfectly fitting with his rotten legacy.

“i imagined a world where you got that scholarship instead of me and it was so emotionally devastating i need the government to eradicate all your wretched kind from public life so no real girl will be traumatized by hypotheticals like i was ever again”

This country was one person's vote away this morning from putting any birthright citizen in danger of being deported tomorrow. We are so much closer to the abyss than we think. Man oh man.

That’s a sincere hope, by the way. Platner is obviously a dog shit liar with no real moral compass, but there’s a chance a good team will keep him in line. For the sake of American Democracy and the end of the violent imperialism he cheered for, I hope that happens.

On my fucking knees begging “leftists” to not talk about the US left being “stabbed in the back” by international Jewish money. It will surprise no one that this was a discussion about how people need to support a certain senatorial candidate in Maine.

Pair of Bluesky posts (handles censored), first one:

“All the right wing groups” big huge citation needed. There’s a huge global network funding the right wing power grab that makes use of but is absolutely not dependent on one tiny violent ethnostate.

Reply post:

Fair. They aren’t funding all of them.
But they are *certainly* funding the most powerful ones in the US who wield the most influence. They literally find Nazis like Elon Musk and Steve Bannon. Not to mention every Democrat who stabs us in the back to help Trump

This headline seems hyperbolic but my personal experience both bike commuting and riding recreationally is that a lot of drivers definitely do, even in a deep blue city in a blue state.

USA Today headline of “Do drivers hate cyclists?” above a story about a big increase in cyclists getting either hit or outright assaulted by car or truck drivers.
