Listening to the Today programme telling us Prime Minister Andy Burnham is going to meet the victims of Epstein et al makes me realise he only needs to be a bit more of a decent human being and he will appear to be a great PM. Starmer set such a low bar.
My classic Tory dad loved gardening. But also as an engineer who appreciated science, he'd be horrified to see the change in the party he was also a local chair for. As his roses and lawn wilted in the sun, he'd despair, I think. Such a nonsensical position for Badenoch to take. No surprise there.

The poll-of-polls on 1 August had Labour 26%, Reform 24%, Tories 20%. The 2024 general election, the worst result in Tory history, delivered 24%. Two years of opposition, a new leader, a Labour Prime Minister forced from office, yet the Tory vote share has gone backwards.
The first Clacton opinion poll puts Count Binface at 20% which is unlikely to unseat Bungface (unless things change) BUT it will make Farage a figure of ridicule - something he will never shake off. Meanwhile I’m still rooting for the Count.
Farage and his clown show used an impressive warship pic to go along with their all new wizard “send em back plan” only problem the ship was flogged off to Brazil in 2018.
It’s horrible and bleak but it’s also grimly funny that, even as the press have decisively chosen to reimpose Labour vs the Tories as a more manageable system, the Tory leader is underlining that she is so disastrously stupid, she’s incapable of being normal and not embarrassing everybody involved.

To be honest, politics is so broken in this country now, I am not sure where it goes. Absolutely none of them have the vision to improve lives and inequality. The Greens, which I am a member of, offer some hope but seem to have lost momentum. Our only hope is Farage either bottles it or gets booted
