This whole thing actually makes me really upset. I think people being loving and intimate with each other is beautiful. The idea that two lovers kissing on a park bench is some sort of affront to public decency is genuinely obscene to me. I think public affection actually makes the world better.
Everyone besides the couple involved in this does not know the love of god nypost.com/2026/07/24/u...
A short statement following the events in Berlin yesterday.
It was great to get to speak at Newcastle Pride after being invited to do so by Curious Arts, who are the organisers of the event. It seemed like it was potentially going to rain at one point, but there was no raining on our parade!
I am so happy to see my motion at @younggreens.bsky.social Convention pass unanimously, with 95 votes for and 0 against, which calls on the Young Greens to stand firmly with trans youth, and to oppose attacks on them.
Uh huh... Uh huh... Interesting. Tell me more about how trans women are apparently a threat to women's safety.

I am so pleased to have signed this, and I think anyone who wants to protect LGBT+ rights should do the same!

Reform beat Labour by 5 votes in High Fell in Gateshead. Properly close. It's far closer than it was in May. There was the added unknown of there being a Tory this time.
High Fell (Gateshead) Council By-Election Result: ➡️ RFM: 40.1% (-4.9) 🌹 LAB: 39.7% (+11.2) 🔶 LDM: 7.0% (-2.2) 🌳 CON: 5.6% (New) 🌍 GRN: 5.0% (-8.7) 🧑🔧 TUSC: 2.6% (-1.0) Reform HOLD. Changes w/ 2026.
Let me be very clear on this. Attitudes like this by Robinson will harm innocent people & put children in direct harm. I was trafficked by peadophiles for four entire years simply because of attitudes like this when I was a child & my community was targeted. www.gazettelive.co.uk/news/teessid...

This is exactly why we have Pride. Because a few years ago this would have just been a hateful fringe figure - but this is where our politics is heading with a Government that kertows. We will resist. And bring hope (*and* electing progressive politicians.) We will win. 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️
Very excited to get to work representing the North East region on this important committee. Thanks for your hard work over the years @miketually.bsky.social, and good luck in Darlington!
Today is also my final day as North East rep to the Green Party Council. Congratulations to @melissa.green on being elected to the role. I didn't restand so that I can focus on getting elected to Darlington Council in May next year.
I attended a People's Emergency Briefing this evening. I was the only councillor in the room. It felt great to listen to people, and my contributions about how people can help councillors such as myself went down incredibly well.
On the final day of Pride Month, a local publication has published a story about me (and it's positive) and my win in Gateshead. www.chroniclelive.co.uk/news/north-e...

Who needs infrastructure when you can just spend more on the military? This is before you realise that some people consider modern day war tactics would be to undermine infrastructure.
Oh my god, fucking fuck off
I finally got around to watching The Amazing Digital Circus this week and what a rollercoaster of emotions. It's quite rare for an animated show to really get the tears going. Some of the characters and the themes are too damn relatable.
Oh so we're just blatantly allowing the NHS to do conversion practices if they just dangle the carrot of "health care services" in front of someone. Surely more analysis to come, but this draft bill is a joke. No bill would be better than this bill. Perhaps that's what Bridget Phillipson wants.
Man, hayfever is really messing me up. I love nature but it hates me. 😭
Trans Apartheid. Continuation of puberty blocker ban for under 18s. Active removal of trans healthcare for trans youth. KSCIE and EHRC guidance. This, too, is Starmer's legacy. We really hope to see you bring this up more, @zackpolanski.bsky.social!
Bills up. Wages too low. Record profits for Oil & Gas. 50 richest families with more wealth than 50% of population. Shit in our rivers. Pensioners jailed for protesting. Migrants thrown under the bus. Supporting a Genocide. That's Starmer's legacy.
Amazing to see that just stating to a political commentator that trans bathroom bans might be in part the reason people have ditched Labour and Starmer gets you blocked. This just shows the utter contempt that politically captured journalists have for the truth when it comes to trans rights.
Trans bathroom ban.
This story isn’t getting the coverage that the initial (and incorrect) allegations enjoyed.

It was great to speak at @darlingtongreens.bsky.social' "Greens Rising" event yesterday and to stick around for an (alcohol free) tipple afterwards. Invite me down again! I just hope this time the A1(M) isn't closed next time... 😂
God damn, I have been grumpy all the time I have had to do the job search. Think I have landed something good. At long last. Going from 9 hours to 9 months to find a job as a trans woman has been... a learning experience.
We quite rightly welcome the signing of the EDM by Siân, Hannah and Ellie. Fighting for trans rights is what Greens should be doing. It's a long-standing party policy that trans women are women, trans men are men and non-binary people are non-binary.
Agree that a big difference between then and now is that we now have algos and lax moderation. Some of my best friends are people I met via IRC and forums in my early teens, when I struggled to make friends in person. Without them, I'd have hated my teen years, moreso than I did being trans.
When I was young, I was an active user of what would now be called social media. vBulletin and phpBB boards, IRC channels, LiveJournal... When I get married in a few months time, two friends I met on IRC and still switch between thinking of them as their handles or "real" names will be my bridesmen.
At this point, I genuinely believe the entire public is being actively gaslit by both the media, and Esther Ghey herself, into forgetting that Brianna Ghey was murdered, by people she knew from school, in real life, who were partly influenced by transphobia, fuelled by the media and politicians.
LOL at Starmer talking about how social media is bad because it “records every mistake”. We don’t all go on LBC and endorse crimes against humanity live on air, mate.
DURHAM TRANS PRIDE is underway! There's speakers, a stall about responding to the EHRC, and a generally chill picnic vibe. I'm here with this sign, come say hello, grab a sticker and have a natter

I beg, nay, plead for the BBC to be broken up, and defunded. This is clear anti-trans bias from an organisation that is supposed to be impartial. The young people at WellBN were under the care of an endocrinologist... you know, hormone Drs... you know, the same Drs that sign off my private care.
Dozens of children put at risk after gender care failures at GP clinic, inquiry finds
A safety inquiry into the WellBN clinic in Brighton found 78 children were potentially harmed after being given gender medication without proper checks.
