Not done learning yet… Here for politics, books, and Hot Tooks (ok, mostly for Peregrin). Also education, parenting, and trauma recovery. AuDHD. 🏳️‍🌈 🏳️‍⚧️ rights = human rights. I’ve got a creepy ex and a public job, so this profile is happily anonymous. ✌️

There is a player on the LA Queens, Brittany Apgar, who has a limb difference and traveled back to Illinois from receiving her first ever batting prosthetic *today* and is 3-for-3 in her first game playing with one. Incredibly cool.

to survive—for the soul to survive—you have to cultivate a strong softness, a stubborn gentleness, the most ferocious tenderness that doesn't look away, that looks, and speaks, and holds, and carries

The self-acceptance that realistic trauma recovery asks of us is nothing short of radical. It challenges us to reclaim parts of ourselves that have been denied, suppressed, or shame. That's harder & more serious work than our abusers & bullies could ever fathom, let alone do.

El-Sayed: "Once a government agency like ICE is told it has impunity to do the worst things and violate the highest law of the land, which is the Constitution itself, I don't think you can reform or retrain. I think we need to start from scratch ... I think we need to abolish it."

I don’t think you ever get over seeing a book you wrote sitting on library shelves & bookstore shelves 🥹😁 I’m So Happy You’re Here: A Celebration of Library Joy written by myself, illustrated by Lorraine Nam 🐧 📖

It's demoralizing living in a nonstop Abuse-a-thon: we've had to learn the sordid details of so many men's abhorrent behavior; I mean this summer has been Graham Platner, Andrew Tate, Jared Leto, Max Miller, plus the horrific L.A. rape-murder of the child by the rapper, to name a few lowlights.

For those going into a new school year very soon—maybe you're already there!—here's a link to all of the most popular resources we've shared the past few years! (All 100% free, too—and you're welcome to make your own templates and adapt for your classroom/space)

One of my goals this summer? Making sure all of the most popular resources I've shared over the years with The Broken Copier could be accessed in a single place. Goal ✅ (And as always, feel free to share with anyone you think this would be helpful for!) docs.google.com/presentation...

And now, a little Vivaldi. Michel Tirabosco, a renowned pan flute player, collaborating with Raphaël Froissart. He is a professor at the Geneva Conservatory. Born with physical differences, he began playing the pan flute at 7 and has achieved international recognition for his skill. #streetmusic

Absolutely unbelievable how solar power has taken off worldwide during the Hormuz oil crisis. You don't have to hand it to him, but Trump may have done more to finally kick off a global civilization of effete librul solar users than anyone else in the West

Chart showing solar panel exports from China (the main solar panel maker by a long shot) growing steadily & mightily from 2018 through 2026, then spiking by almost 2x in March 2026.
