As we welcome Woke 2.0 or 3.0 or whatever it is, a fun thing to remember is that there's no need to pull rhetorical punches on right wingers ever again in our lives. In 18 months they validated every negative thing that's ever been said about them and more

Something something IDK how does one even begin to summarize who they are without cutting off parts of themselves to fit into neat little boxes?
Beware of conservative influencers pivoting left in the next year. They want your attention first and will do what they need to do to get it.
Every metric in Texas including but especially the victory margin in his own race shows Talarico coulda won without throwing trans people under the bus. Every politician that did that, it’s a choice they made because they believe some people are expendable.
Talarico is on record as willing to compromise when it comes to the rights of trans people. This is important because we have played this game for decades now where the world’s most spineless liberal is defined by their enemies regardless of how much they compromise values & people. So don’t.
Really, really important for Democrats to understand that if we allow "enforcing the rule of law" to be redefined as "getting even" we are cooked.
"The American people don't want us to get even; they want us to get things done on their behalf." House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, who is now poised to become the next House Speaker, says that Democrats will focus on affordability concerns and not retribution after their midterm wins.
Painfully ironic that despite being told by Republicans and centrists for over a decade that Muslims wouldn't support people like me, the most prominent politicians standing up for trans people in America are all Muslim.
Yesterday, in a hostile 60 Minutes interview with a Bari Weiss acolyte who once called trans kids a “social contagion,” El-Sayed refused to budge on trans rights. “A failure to show up and fight for that right is a failure to show up and fight for your own.” Subscribe to support our journalism.
taking life-saving medicine away from my poor and disabled sisters is not an acceptable compromise, go fuck yourself
Turek isn’t against the rights of trans people like every Republican is. He only said he opposes trans women competing in women’s sports and is opposed to taxpayer funded transitions. While I disagree with him on those things, he will still be a better advocate for trans people than any Republican.
it’s the basic game theory of centrism — we are more indifferent than you (on the left, or the right) to the outcome, so if you move to far in a direction we dislike we’ll flip or withdraw.
nobody wants to hear it but the only real “blue no matter who” types are progressives the defectors are always, always, the “centrists” and this is true when it comes to passing legislation too
if i miss an important bug, it's terrible consequences for other people. if i resolve them all, even the noise, the "only" downside is that it burns away my own life. in terms of game theory, this is an awful arrangement. AI tooling is literally outsourced stress
it's honestly why i won't shut up about it. i'm not going to be part of the cis mob willing to throw trans people under the bus so i can drink more mimosas at brunch on sundays or whatever
They REALLY need to know that transphobia is a turnoff to more than just trans people. If they’re ok with sacrificing trans rights now, they’ll be ok with sacrificing more and more people’s rights. Stop this shit nowwwwwww.
if you're trans we need you to say you won't vote for transphobes. even if you will vote for transphobes we need you to tell them you won't. it's always ok to lie to cis ppl if you need to. we need you to. it's better political positioning for all of us to at least perform rejection of transphobia
Betrayed, disappointed, hurt — and backing Democrats anyway Many trans voters and their loved ones said they’re resigned to voting for Democrats in competitive races who don’t fully support them, fearing a worse alternative in Republicans. 19thnews.org/2026/10/tran... via @19thnews.org
You know that sinking feeling you get when it feels like every choice is humiliating because you're seen as a second class citizen and maybe that's never gonna change? Stifle it. Don't let them see you as small or scared. There is absolutely nothing wrong with being trans.

Liberals have never figured out that the main reason they are targeted for criticism by the (non-right wing) media is that they respond to it and it makes the critics feel powerful. The right laughs at their criticism and says “fuck off,” which only makes them feel impotent.
My uninformed guess is that the Times ownership is less interested in who actually wins the presidency than in throwing their weight around and reasserting themselves as an Important Political Entity. They want to show dominance and recapture some of their dwindling relevance. It's not gone well
#TransLivesMatter 🏳️⚧️ I’m an African trans woman who was recently a victim of transphobic hate which has deepened my dysphoria & made me unsafe. So far I have $739/18500 Kindly boost this to help me get gender affirming surgery to finally live safely & be myself. Please🙏🏾🏳️⚧️ whydonate.com/fundraising/...
Rockefeller made so much more money after Standard Oil was broken up. He fought that tooth and nail because it was the power he wanted. Money is often a means to power, but it is not a perfect metric for power.
People wonder why capitalists so often Lose Money if their primary focus is ostensibly making as much as possible. Philosophically (in practice) capitalism is a Control Economy (not to be confused with controlled economy). Capitalists gladly cede money for control. And they want to control all.
Now you are *almost* at the US level of anti-Black racist harm You can then break down the specific racist harms that impact Black Americans at a population level to create this early death. * Police violence / harm * Medical neglect * Incarceration while innocent * Artificial poverty / wage theft
Reminder that dunks disseminate. You're not owning some asshole, you're being his free street team. Please stop putting stupid shit in my timeline. Just block and move on.
Wrote about Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen, which feels like an uphill battle to try to reconcile the base game and its different audiences. It mostly succeeds, there's a handful of things that I'd tweak, but it's a very strong expansion and gives me confidence in what that team will do next.
Though certain parts fit into the base game oddly and they drown you in gear, Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen is a wonderfully executed expansion that follows several key quality of life improvements and echoes the previous game's Dark Arisen expansion. aftermath.site/dragons-dogma-...
She repeated words she had said many times before: “Every moment is an organizing opportunity, every person a potential activist, every minute a chance to change the world.” If she hadn’t devoted her life to organizing, Dolores would have wanted to be a dancer. RIP
Legacy media has no problem stealing from @marisakabas.bsky.social reporting, but when she's asking why all of them cover for rapists and pedophiles it's crickets.
Told me wife about it this morning and she said "I didn't think you were making it up when you said the American media loves Trump and his pedophiles and protects them, but I didn't hear one peep in any of my news feeds about it. He's the sitting President and it's jarring how much they protect him"
1. Not sure when a new, on-the-record rape allegation against a sitting president isn’t considered news — especially considering Trump was found liable by a jury in a similar case — but it was ignored by most mainstream media outlets
Look, I know all the reasons we got here, but we really need to start seriously thinking about what we do in a world where The Markets punish whole countries for voting for decency, compassion, and fairness. We must stop pretending the capitalist machine is an objective, value neutral force.
It's very, very telling, I think, that the markets are so concerned about the pro-democracy incumbent winning
IT'S NOT ABOUT SPORTS YOU FUCKING CIS IDIOTS. IT'S ABOUT BEING FULL AND EQUAL MEMBERS OF SOCIETY. TRANS WOMEN ARE WOMEN, TRANS GIRLS ARE GIRLS AND HAVE THE GOD GIVEN RIGHT TO PARTICIPATE IN EVERY FACET OF SOCIETY AS THEMSELVES JUST AS YOU CIS IDIOTS DO
I think we underestimate the appeal of antigambling politics because every problem gambler is surrounded by 3-10 people who are absolutely sick of their shit.
Lula won in part by banning online gambling
None of us should forget this. Meta should be subjected to corporate death penalty and permanently broken up into small pieces.
I will not forget that Zuckerberg and Facebook shut down the accounts of the most popular presidential candidate in one of the largest democracies in the world, and he was elected anyway
This. A thousand times over, this. I think it was Maya Angelou who once observed that wasting your time was a genuine tactic of these people, deployed with the intent to distract, frustrate, and exhaust. Block that shit and commit to sharing only actionable, informative political content.
I’m not a political journalist, so was gladly surprised at the community I found here last night. To Americans anxious about the upcoming elections, a key thing we learned in Brazil that might help you: DO NOT engage with the far-right online. Don’t share rage bait. Amplify your people. Ignore them.
