Almost every artist I really like has been consumed by Transformers MTMTE (the comic) at least once. If they haven’t yet, they will. It’s inevitable

This is why the CA AG can't cut a deal. He needs to kill it instead. It will devastate the entertainment industry, and all the related jobs that support it. Los Angeles isn't just entertainment jobs, but all the restaurants and hotels and other workers that support it. variety.com/2026/film/ne...

I hope Sega keeps letting the Sonic team do their side projects. The Chaotix Casefiles and The Murder of Sonic are the best things to have come out of the franchise
Great news! The movie about sex has no sex!
‘ONE NIGHT ONLY’ director Will Gluck says they cut out “so much nudity” from the film because he thinks audiences dislike sex on screen. “Whenever people now see nudity or very adult situations in a big theater, they get uncomfortable.” (Source: variety.com/2026/film/fe...)
Sonic’s “shounen Mickey Mouse” schtick really shouldn’t work as well as it does
Do people like this realize how many people have continued to live their lives while never once relying on AI
Guys like this don’t realize that they are the freak
Contrast is actually really important for appeal. Not just contrast between your characters and their timing, but also within the scenes, sequences and overall season. If you pump everything up to 12/10 right out of the gate you have to stay there and people expect you to keep going.
I'm doing a workshop with some students and a lot of my advice is like ,less movement - less words. ('dialog is not acting' is a refrain) So many people with a love of characters make the mistake of only focusing on those 'fun' aspects and gloss over everything else that communicates just as much!
Thinking about why women might not want to use a product that has forced itself into every software interface to confidently shout things that are wrong
One of the more misogynistic takes currently trending in the AI policy space is "women use less AI than men because they have less tech literacy" Ok but have you considered that women use less AI than men because we have more tech literacy?
Studios like that animation makes them a profit while those doing the actual labor remain anonymous. Our directors and writers are secondary to “Disney” and “Sony” and “DreamWorks”. They can cash in without the risk of someone’s name getting too big, too important.
One animator put it plainly: “You have no idea how frustrating it is to see press release after press release touting how much money our animated film made and how many nominations we got; then [the studio] turns to people who have worked here forever and says, ‘We don’t need you anymore.’” Heh.
Repatriating a body is an incredibly incredibly expensive process. We ultimately couldn't afford the cost to do so with my dad - so please contribute if you can to Luis's family. It's incredibly meaningful.
The family and friends of Mexican animator Luis de la Rosa, who tragically passed away during the Annecy Festival, are asking for support to help cover travel expenses and repatriate his body. A GoFundMe fundraiser has been launched for anyone who would like to help: gofund.me/ae1944d68
If a billionaire biohacker getting an autoimmune disease is what leads to there being enough research to uncover the cause of (and potentially cure) autoimmune diseases, I think that’s a net positive.
A man who publicly was doing something which, when done wrong, can cause graft-vs-host disease, an autoimmune disease which can attack, among other things, your GI tract, now has an autoimmune disease which is attacking his GI tract. What a coincidence.
I have enough board game friends to know that if a billionaire became a Board Game Person™️ the entire premise of Yu-Gi-Oh! is completely feasible
Nothing convinced me more of awards shows being a load of horseshit than BRAT not winning Album of the Year when it was *literally* the Album of the Year
I cannot overstate the effect having Blue Eye Samurai on my resume has had. Me as an artist and my ambitions are taken seriously to a degree they NEVER were before.
Being outside your comfort zone is good! Its how anything worthwhile and interesting in life happens. That being said, I’ve been outside my comfort zone for so long that I am very much so looking forward to the two weeks I have scheduled of doing nothing but being in my comfort zone. Exhausted
Sounds like AI is a huge liability and billionaires are mega-crybaby about it as per. "established studios with a positive track record see a "catastrophic" 40% to 60% drop in sales when they use AI"
Literally everyone wants new stuff - execs, development, creators, audiences. The struggle is that the top dogs holding the purse strings are cowards and refuse to accept that
Cartoon Network/Adult Swim president Michael Ouweleen says he’s “manifesting the conditions to start new things again.” “At Adult Swim, we’re only doing new things. We have signals from the fan base… and they don’t want us to do reboots.”
after years of suffering under trumps destructive actions it is great to see democrats finally uniting and going on the strong offensive to *checks notes*
Thirteen Democratic House members and candidates announced their support for a centrist initiative aimed at pushing back against the party’s tilt toward democratic socialism.
I love this quote by Ira Glass. I think about it often. "But your taste, the thing that got you into the game, is still killer." <- Read the whole quote but this I love.
ARTISTS: quote with some random art advice!!
Storyboard artists, often closest and most integral to realizing a director's vision, are a relatively cheap part of the process. Often their role is disparaged, or not even understood. And yet one of the main goals of AI in film production seems to be to replicate what they do.
A24 announces that they want to put storyboard artists out of work. That's what the headline should be written as. Becuase we should be honest about what these AI "tools" are trying to do, and who it is trying to circumvent. variety.com/2026/film/ne...
I don’t really actively write so much as my brain just randomly begins to play a movie and I quickly jot it down
