I hit the streets of Bellingham, WA to hear from local business owners about how Trump's tariffs are costing them—literally. They all agreed: let’s pass my bill to end Trump’s tariffs NOW.

Biomedical scientists - a reminder that NIH proposes to "improve" peer review by hiding impact scores from Program Officers and applicants, and binning applications into broad categories of "Most competitive,""Competitive," or "Not discussed." Please provide feedback before the October 13 deadline!
It's hard to imagine something so disgusting as a video game poking fun at the plight of immigrants, and I'm frustrated that the first I heard of this was in the Danish press
'Jeg væmmes ved det': Det Hvide Hus har lanceret videospil med jagt på migranter
Flere organisationer mener, at Trump-administrationen leger med menneskers liv og latterliggør migranter.

I have received the final proofs. Or the almost final proofs—it’s hard to tell.

Hurrah for another preprint! My faculty and student coauthors and I investigated whether an intro Biology lab curriculum actually gives students opportunities to engage in science practices. The answer? Often, yes! And we can do better without too much work. academic.oup.com/iob/advance-...

Mostly, people never look at the “boring” funding info of any article. In 2026 it can be used to tell a story on how your grant was terminated. 🧪“The content is solely the responsibility of the authors & does not represent the official views of the funders (NIH & ACS).” 💀😭
Amid the rush to burn DEI infrastructure to the ground, it’s worth remembering that the goal was never favoritism. It was a fair shot for people long excluded by unconscious or real bias — prominent scientists, including Nobel laureates, openly argued some “races” were innately unsuited for science.
"There will likely be “spillover” to Europe from what the Trump administration is attempting in the US, said Colette Delawalla [..] European scientists need to prepare now for similar assaults" Nogle kendte RFK Jr- og MAHA-allierede fra et 🇩🇰 universitet nævnes som et faresignal - just saying. ⚠️

Leaving Denmark always makes me sad. I’m excited to catch up with friends, colleagues, and mentees, but still….Here’s this tour’s last swim.
Proud of this international collaboration between a public PUI in the US and an R1 in Denmark. Research can and should build friendships and breakdown borders. Also, we learn about the (molecular) networks we didn’t recognize before! doi.org/10.1093/g3jo... @genetics-gsa.bsky.social

There are only a few hours left to comment on the proposed OMB rule that would eviscerate American science. This is the single best summary, and guidance for how to write a comment, that I have seen. PLEASE submit something, even if it is only 2 or 3 paragraphs.

For folks asking why bother commenting because the OMB won't care: comments help build cases for the courts by explicitly laying out harms. That's why it's really important to have your comments be as specific as possible. Also, contact your senators and reps! They actually do care about this.
Monday is the deadline for public comment! The Heritage Foundation has been mobilizing its members to leave comments in favor of the rule change, so every unique comment matters (don’t use a form letter or copy/paste—similar comments are batched and treated as one).
98973 comments have been added to the OMB proposed rules! We have THREE DAYS LEFT! Let's hit 100,000 comments! If you still haven't made a comment, click the link below for information about the rules and how to make comments. fight2win.standupforscience.net/campaign/163...
