The 3rd floor staff bathroom is located inside the resource room I teach in. (Once upon a time in the 1920s when the school was built, the room was the staff room.) Due to this fact, I make A LOT of signs. Do you know what I have never once needed in order to make those signs?

Normalize making fun of people when they’re all proud of having used generative AI to do some trvial task. Yesterday’s example: A colleague made a sign that said ‘USE THIS DOOR, OTHER DOOR IS BROKEN.’ Yup. AI for that. 1/?

The thing about Seth Moulton is that there is not a thing he actually believes. The man will say whatever he *thinks* will get him votes. That's why he's suddenly on the abolish ICE train now that he's running for Senate. All of this makes him very susceptible to these sorts of moral panics.

My kingdom for pants that are the length of my (extremely average length) legs. I have been waiting YEARS for cropped pants’ reign of terror to end. It feels so ridiculous to go to work in the winter with a gap between my pants and my boots!

I do not want anymore baggy trousers or balloon pants or skintight slacks that crop above my ankles. I do not want anymore crop tops or hideous patterns. I want clothes I can wear to work and then go out for happy hour after and not have to change. I want a Nice Top and Nice Pants.

not saying anything new, but if these folks actually believed in genAI writing, they'd disclose it, tout it, and build their own audiences elsewhere and leave others be. hiding and sneaking it to markets who want no part of it doesn't prove you're good at writing. just proves you're good at fraud.

Maybe the other thing that some people will get through their THICK SKULLS is that most people who live & work in the US are WORKING CLASS. Teachers are WORKING CLASS. NURSES are WORKING CLASS. Social workers are WORKING CLASS. SO ARE STARBUCKS BARISTAS (who some seem to despise)....

This. We saw this with Swalwell too. People - including a disturbing number of women! - kept yelling that we have to hold seats at any cost to regain power, so we should accept XYZ. People still yell about Franken to this day! No. We have to demand and expect better of our elected officials.

It’s really disappointing how “we can’t expect every politician to be perfect” has somehow morphed into “we must elect this suspected rapist who has repeatedly lied about himself” for some people, King included. There’s such a gulf between perfection and sexual assault, like c’mon.
