this is literally what I do for a living and it's called "blameless root cause" where you identify everything that went wrong without assigning blame to any one person in particular. the NTSB really went all in on this and it's one of the reasons airplane travel is/(was?) so safe in the US.

i keep wanting to use the words "this is shockingly well-written" to describe this, but you need to understand-- it's not shocking that it's well-written; the shock is the surprise associated with its relatable edge that cuts into you from the very start and then it keeps going, hooked into you 🔥

tomorrow in tabletop: a oneshot where everyone has lied on their resume in some way to join an investigative taskforce we were asked to submit a "resume" sheet along with our actual one, and a cover letter i think i'm the only one who actually wrote a cover letter, but i'm pleased with it anyway 😂

i've been making my way through Coral Island recently and it has surprisingly been the chill, wholesome thing i have really needed, recently i'm almost through my first year of play! my town is rank c! there is officially too much to easily manage now and i'm Doing My Best on an ever-empty wallet 😂

today in tabletop: so much amazing downtime activity. we got to ruminate on the news that a coup attempt is coming against the dragon king, and begin talking through our own related plans. alliances were discussed, training was done. my character unlocked a teleport ability >:)) and we made *plans*

A reminder that the absolute best thing you can do if you want to see more projects like this is to get involved and JOIN UVW. Money is great but volunteer time is infinitely more valuable and in short supply, plus you’ll meet amazing people and learn new things!

Did you know that in official numbers (often extracted from WARN notices), contractors aren't counted as cut employees? So the games industry bloodbath is even worse than being reported. Big ups to Rebekah for covering what many game workers already know: it's past time we fight for our dignity.
