I need people to understand that for the last half decade that there’s been an ecosystem of trans folks in sports media who have worked unpaid to serve as experts for context, sources and educators on what it’s like for trans athletes, in hopes of potential bylines and contacts. That’s dried up.

I hate sounding like a conspiracy person but there’s a reason that this Sophie Cunningham thing is on like day 7 of discourse and how there’s absolutely very little trans staff writers driving the news coverage of it.

if there's anything i've learned in my many years of writing and reading media criticism, it's that it doesn't matter how offensive a portrayal of a marginalized person is, there will always be someone of that identity who has personally reclaimed that character. and p often that person is also me.

So, uh, August is looking alittle scary for me. Not because it's when I planned to released my 2nd ever EP, but because I'm still out of work. I've been pondering doing custom songs for hire or song comissions, but before I even set a price, I need to look at how much interest there is first.

So when I'm not working on music for myself, I like to make music for others. The equest for for "Peew Wee Herman and Ed Grimley get into a nunchuck fight" and "please add some accodion". Full disclosure: he added Grimley's signature triangle at the end, making up for a glaring omission on my part.
