i'm now GENUINELY nostalgic for the years in which i was listening to a lot of citypop, which itself was at the time driven by FAKE nostalgia for the 80s, a decade that i never actually lived in fake nostalgia has become real nostalgia

Honestly, kinda inclined to agree with this. As much as I get people's frustration with being spoiled, I am also frustrated when I talk about things w/ ppl irl and getting the "spoiler" call for increasingly smaller details. Especially as someone who enjoys being spoiled a bit.

The trouble I have is that the definition of spoilers keeps expanding. Is it big twists and reveals? Is it any plot detail at all? I've seen people refer to the *appearance of a character* as a spoiler. At a certain point it just completely supresses the ability to talk about anything.

Lorenzo Salgado Araujo was murdered by ICE. His three sons called him “El mundo entero” — the whole world. They watched as their whole world died in a video posted on Facebook. Lorenzo was our neighbor and fellow Texan. He deserves justice.

Mamdani: "As we mark 250 years ... we see the wealthiest country -- one where children go to sleep hungry while the world's first trillionaire hungers for more ... we see masked agents terrorizing our streets, eating food cooked by undocumented neighbors before spiriting them away in unmarked vans"

I don't blame folks for having conflicting feelings about Jax, god knows I'm on team "no amount of suffering will stop people from hating you if you treat them like a punching bag" but she's a fictional character, not your high school bully. This isn't about you. Many things aren't. Chill.

I've haven't been up to date with newer Superman comics issues, but I just discovered the character Marilyn Moonlight. WHY doesn't she have her own series yet, DC? She's freaking awesome. Her costume design is amazing. And she's got a ghostly moonlight-horse, how cool is that?

I’m a climate scientist. Let me fix this headline. “Nearly a century ago, scientists showed that burning fossil fuels warms the planet. Today, we know human emissions account for over 100% of the warming. Yet dark money and disinformation still work to keep Americans addicted to fossil fuels.”

Scientists have reached a consensus that human behavior is a big driver of climate change—but Americans aren't buying it.

Please. For the love of god. Never use the phrase “left leaning billionaire.” That isn’t a thing. It doesn’t exist. For a billionaire to be even remotely leftist they would be a class traitor and wouldn’t engage in anything even remotely related to the system that made them a billionaire.
