Friendly reminder that these things aren't impacted by closing the Strait of Hormuz so maybe, just maybe, we should implement them to avoid being impacted by future conflicts: -Solar panels -Wind turbines -Battery storage -Electric vehicles -Bicycles -Natural fertilizers -Electric heat pumps

When the news gets to be too much, take a mental health break and stroll through the U of M's Landscape Arboretum. (The indoor art gallery is also a feast for the eyes when the weather is not conducive to long outdoor walks.) Photos are from a recent visit. @mnarboretum.bsky.social

What a lovely tribute to our Minnesota journalists! It has been a tough year for our state and I'm so grateful to all of our professional journalists for the great news coverage. Thank you for your courage, tenacity and heart. The world is watching.

The MN Society of Professional Journalists board put together a video of national journalists and a former U.S. president thanking Minnesota reporters for our work this year. It was played at the MNSPJ award ceremony last night. What a gift. @mnspj.bsky.social

MONTREAL: “A total of 12 streets are being pedestrianized this year, encouraging local businesses and bringing outdoor festivities to the heart of the city and to some residential neighnourholds.” Via @cultmtl.com Montreal’s smart approach has grown boldly each year, & is pro-business/business led!

Today, I’m mourning my friend Melissa and her husband Mark, as we mark one year since they were assassinated in their home. Melissa was a dedicated public servant who worked every day to improve the lives of Minnesotans. That should never have cost her or her husband their lives.
