Too interested to wait, I wrote some numbers haphazardly on one of my kids’ colouring sheets and tried a samizdat game of @lunarpunk.games’s Color Jam. Even playing my unofficial version, I found it thought provoking. (Mini 🧵)

Turns out Color Jam is good for travel too! I brought some midliners and just played a solo game in the hotel. It’s fun and relaxing to just color stuff in, and it’s neat going for mini goals (like trying to get a rainbow thing going in the waterfall area)! @lunarpunk.games
These Midnight Market games we've been cooking up for this year are reeeeeeeeeeaaaaally cool. Y'all are gonna love 'em.
I got the chance to try Color Jam for a bit and genuinely, I think it should be getting way more attention. It has the potential to open the doors of hobby board games to so, so many more people.
Today I discuss three paper games: one about origami, another with coins, and a third that's all about coloring by numbers. Read about them here: spacebiff.com/2026/07/24/o...

I turned the ColorJam logo into a ColorJammable page! I love this game so much, and I'm very confident you will, too. Please follow it on Kickstarter!

Excited for our first book club on July 28th at 8pm EST! We'll discuss C. Thi Nguyen's "Games: Agency as Art", an excellent text about how games convey agential experiences, and the risk of losing our values to scoring systems. Hosted by @ericdittmore.bsky.social ! discord.gg/NrqwRTm4?eve...
We love this! What a great result, too. Collaborative play is our jam. 😎
I got a PnP review copy of Color Jam from @lunarpunk.games and tried it out today. Started solo but then one of my kids came and wanted to help me color, and by the end he was helping me choose the colors based on the numbers! We managed to get the picture almost how we wanted!
We get asked a lot, what does Lunarpunk Games stand for? Well, it's simple: Listen, Unranked Nomenclature Around Rigorous Playtesting Utilizes Nuanced Kindness, Giving All More Ephemeral Spectacle. jk I made that up just now sorrryyyyyy
Narrative outcomes are one of our favorite ways to explore game end states. Win/Lose makes sense for some things, but the games we play are ultimately the stories we write, solo or together. It can be pretty cool and impactful to see how your story ends based on the choices you made through play.
One of our favorite things about Color Jam is seeing how people build a story around their coloring choices. Due to the game's puzzle, we stylized some spaces to be interpreted in different ways. In the photos below, the spaces in the middle right either be a hot air balloon or a part of a cactus!

We are really excited about publishing Color Jam, designed by @stickydoodler.bsky.social and Joe Kell. It's a cozy, print-and-puzzle coloring game for one or for you and some friends. It's perfect for lazy summer evenings or for when you want a whisper of strategy in your coloring. 🏖️🖍️
So Joe and I are excited to finally share that we signed ColorJam with @lunarpunk.games! I'm super pumped to work with a publisher who champions games that define victory in new ways the way ColorJam does! And check out this oversized coloring page:
🎨- Color Jam, by @stickydoodler.bsky.social and Joe Kell. A print-and-puzzle coloring game; use 6 unique colors to fill spaces and make your ideal picture. The catch is, whenever you use a color, it changes the order of what colors can be used where!
Unpub is this weekend! We're exciting to play your games and share some of ours with you. Our publishing studio focuses on games where any number of players can win or lose OR games where there are no winers and losers, just various outcomes players reach. Here's what we're bringing:

What if I'm the Devil? just arrived! Very excited to check this out. It was released during the @lunarpunk.games Midnight Market!
I am delighted to see ColorJam! connecting with MAGFest attendees. @lunarpunk.games had the brilliant idea of creating larger-than-life coloring pages, and this group pulled one right off the easel and just started playing! Play it now at the tabletop section in the Riverview Ballroom!
Me doing an unguided test of convention hall neighbor @lunarpunk.games Colorjam in between demos. You make a little rondel of crayons and can only use the color in a given numbered position to fill in an area with the same number. Used crayon goes to the end and the rest slide up
We'll be at Magfest next week with some cool unranked games and propaganda, plus offering up a little sneaky peaky at what we're bringing to the table in 2026. 🌚 Who else is going to be there this year?
Want to make your own multivictor and victorless games and looking for designer insight? We meet with designers each month making these kinds of games and interview them in our Dialogues at Dusk series (linked below). Also, if you're making games like this, we'd love to have you on!
