The one big problem that everyone should agree on when it comes to remakes is how industries tend to peddle remakes as replacements by only selling the remake without making it possible to get the original just as easily. With games it's far too common for pubs to actively pull originals from sale

I usually avoid the topic since who cares, but the only "real" issue I have with remakes (mostly remake discourse) is that anti-remake people consistently act as if they're the only smart people in the room who "understand" art and it makes me wanna push them into a freezing river every single time

As a translator I bristle at anti-remake discourse. Bad localization analysis concerns itself primarily with "authenticity," posing it as something that exists outside of the individual's perspective, and criticism of remakes often demonstrates an attitude only a step or two removed.
