What a lovely bird - a great splash technique. They can fly non-stop over the Sahara & winter in Senegal - Ethiopia & even as far S. as Namibia.

When I was writing the first drafts of the novel I'm now prepping to revise, I thought often of this Jane Smiley quote: "Every great novel offers incomprehensible abundance in some form." And wouldn't you know it, my first draft is often both incomprehensible and abundantly so. 😂
