I 100% have not changed a single goddamn thing about how I write here in the age of "AI." I write how I write. If the "AI" writes anything like how I write, it's because it stole from me. I'm gonna use any punctuation I like, and if it looks "AI"ish to you, you can go fuck yourself.

Authors and journalists are doing more first-person (hello 2010s blogging) and embracing "mistakes" in writing to prove they're not chatbots. There's even an “anti-Grammarly" app that leaves in typos and signs off "sent from my iPhone" to create more authenticity: www.wired.com/story/more-t...

Happy Tu B’Av! That’s the holiday where unmarried women would gather at the Temple and then harass their unrequited lover with a giant horn until the man agreed to marry her. This is also the actual origin of the word “horny.”

It is a tiny bit frustrating seeing Post-Self described as "cyberpunk", given that it is both decidedly not cyber and decidedly not punk. If it is anything related to the genre, it is post-cyberpunk: optimistic, idealistic, hopeful that it is possible for a society to be essentially good.

Photographer challenge: post a photo you're extremely proud of. Playing with light and shadow has always been an interest of mine in photography, but this was the first time I feel like I stumbled into actually feeling like a shot I took gave light tangible volume and presence.

Photograph looking down a road that is rising uphill. The sun is setting aligned with the road, pouring orange light down toward the camera. A few semi trucks and a car are driving. The shadows cast and the weather suggest a luminous fog around them.

Photographer challenge: post a photo you're extremely proud of. It's silly, and probably something only I like, but I just love the textures and dynamic range I got on this. Was like...4:45AM with juuust barely enough light.

I moved fairly frequently when I was growing up. Every few years, it felt like, we would shift over to some other house, and there would be joy there, too. It was rarely ever a bad thing, mind, just a way to...trade up, I suppose? Or to find a place that fit better, felt more like home.
