It’s a shame that the women’s liberation movement was, for 50 years, personified by Gloria Steinem — someone who never really shared that movement’s emancipatory goals.

Here's the thing. To the Democratic Party, Black Folks are an important constituency. We don't always get what we want, but they definitely want our votes. To Democratic Socialists, Black Folks are just a tool. We are expected to obey them at all times, and when we don't, we get called monkeys.
