I don’t think there’s enough vote for Stevens left but this will be a close result. My hope is that the El-Sayed/DSA/far left contingent don’t get despondent but realize that both factions need each other. It’s time to cut the shit and fight MAGA, not Democrats.

My ice-cold boring take that will definitely not go viral is that a primary result with a margin of victory of roughly 1 percent tells you precisely nothing about The Future Of The Party.

Setting the scene with "It's 6:29 AM on a Tuesday". At a music festival. TUESDAY MORNING. (Oct 7th, 2023 was a Saturday) Immediately getting the date wrong of the event she's writing about is at least a nice early warning of how uninterested in facts the author is lol

It’s 6:29 AM on a Tuesday. A drum machine repeats the base four kicks on a four-beat measure; 1/2/3/4 for up to 150 beats per minute. EDM fans pour through the dance floor with tribal tattoos, piercings, and canopies dye-printed with Ganesha fluttering in the wind. Israeli DJ Yarin Illovich plays, under his stagename Artifex, to a crowd dressed in pashmina scarves, bindi forehead jewelry, and loose-fitting

ESPN opted to gut their veteran reporter/commentator roster so that guys like Pat McAfee and Aaron Rodgers can yuck it up over medical conspiracy theories. It's been a long time since ESPN was great, but now they're just peddling trash that's ultimately in the service of anti-intellectual fascism.

I will never understand why they did this. They gutted their newsrooms to pay guys like McAfee & Stephen A Smith ungodly amounts of money, as though guys like them aren't completely replaceable Remember when they got rid of Skip Bayless & no one gave a shit?

Judge Mehta's J6 Requiem "That book is now closed. Today’s epilogue diminishes the gravity of that day, denigrates the work of the prosecutors and ... officers who secured these convictions, and excuses criminal acts that caused a centuries-long pillar of our democracy ... to buckle."

This is the last of the prosecutions seeking to hold accountable those responsible for the
events of January 6. That book is now closed. Today’s epilogue diminishes the gravity of that
day, denigrates the work of the prosecutors and law enforcement officers who secured these
convictions, and excuses criminal acts that caused a centuries-long pillar of our democracy—the
peaceful transfer of presidential power—to buckle. The court cannot write a different ending.

Worth noting that in 2018, Lauren Underwood and Haley Stevens each flipped a red House seat to blue and have held that seat ever since. The test of a party is the ability to win on the other party's turf. For all the talk of DSA ascendancy, they've not once flipped a seat.

Imma just say it. At 85%, White Kids who came from a place of privilege running the DSAs after they helped benefit from gentrified communities, have no survival instincts. That's why they are scared to challenge Red Districts. They are scared to face their parents.
