I'm not a smart political analyst, nor do I understand the things the final undecided voter in the Wisconsin general will be thinking. But I do know that if you call it "woke 1" you're not focusing on the right stuff.

Act like you want to win, support your fav in the primary, and then support the primary winner. The democratic party isn't facing a schism like the GOP did. The only people being cut out are the Sinemas, Manchins, and Fettermans. Good. They did more damage to the party and Biden's agenda than maga.

The good news for moderates is that the vast majority of leftist Democrats actually want to govern. This is where the easy analogy many are making to the Tea Party breaks down.

The Tea Partiers who got elected after Barack Obama took office did attack their party’s establishment in the same way the leftists are now, but once in office, they just wanted to wreak havoc — grind Congress to a halt, shut down the government, throw sand in every gear they could find.

Leftists, on the other hand, want government to do things. They need it to work. And recent experience shows that when they take office, while they may not moderate their basic views, most of them display a great deal of pragmatism as they try to make change.

New in PN: Moderate Democrats have a choice to make "They can spend the next three months reinforcing Republican messaging about their party & making it less likely Dems take power. Or they can put the 'battle for the soul of the party' off for a while and do what they can to help their party win."

In case you're wondering, the median income in the US is $81,604, while in California it is $100,100: +23% The median home price in the US is $372,955, while in California it is $775,549: +108% This is a big reason why 45% of Americans who sleep on the street do so in California.

Every week, @wtevs.bsky.social delivers such rich and thoughtful analysis of what makes basketball so special, and this week's installment of Basketball Feelings is a one of my favorites!

All the hysteria and rhetoric that consumed a community around these bike lanes ended and now no one talks about them and people use them (including those with mobility devices) all the time for work, school, play and everything in between. Change is hard for some people but we all adapt.
