For non-academic people, this how much UK universities pay publishers to publish their researchers’ articles. The publishers don't pay the researchers, and don't pay the peer reviewers. They also frequently cock up your paper at the typesetting stage. Academic publishing is the worst grift.

One of the most successful pedestrian streets in the world, the Strøget in Copenhagen, was filled with cars until a 2 year pedestrianization pilot project in 1962. Download this book (it's open access) and read it now! It is a detailed and rigorous presentation of an illusionist theory of consciousness, and in my opinion it is one of the most important books about consciousness ever written. Congratulations, @lovingautomaton.bsky.social!

I am frustrated by the anti-AI obsession on this place. I understand people are annoyed by AI being imposed on us for trivial things and by the AI uber alles discourse but it really feels like older people complaining about a new technology.
