Yet another UK attempt to have the benefits of EU membership without the obligations. It has zero chance of going anywhere. It would seem that the British will never learn. Like Sisyphus, they are doomed to forever roll a rock up the European hill, never reaching the summit before it rolls down.

Unless, the UK committs free movement of persons, any single market access is out of the question. /2
Another day, another plan originating from the UK that would involve the EU making wholesale changes to its own internal and external arrangements to suit the interests and political preferences of a neighbouring non-member state.

Ceuta is not in Schengen. I´m tired of the "patriotic" far right aligning themselves with anyone trying to destabilize/interfere with their own countries/EU. If there is no comprehensive assessment by government of the benefits & costs of joining the customs union before 2028 then the most we will see at GE in 2029 is generic waffle to give the government wiggle room. It may allow EEA/EFTA but no more than that. Rejoining the EU is a very long process.

I always wondered this, the UK can't influence the EU from the inside because it was dominated by the French and Germans etc. So if it can't influence the EU whilst a member, how the f*** did they think it was going to influence the EU from outside, or influence China, the US etc.
