never has minneapolis needed to celebrate the sun coming more than at the end of winter 2026. ICE are not gone completely, but we still won, and it was incredibly cathartic to see this ceremony at mayday about protecting our neighbors, grounding why we did this work. i love this city

Had a lot of fun teaching the first year students about the cerebellum today! Opened with the Powerpuff girls, how the mayor was absolutely useless and horrible at his job, but his assistant was essential, ran everything, and kept the town afloat. Her name was Ms. Sara Bellum. Got audible gasps!

My first R01 has officially been submitted. I remember working on my K99 during May 2020 thinking hopefully I'll never have to write another grant during such chaotic, uncertain, and frightening conditions. January 2026 said "hold my beer."

I stopped to enjoy the warmth of my local brewery after dropping my food donation, where I peruse the coverage of Jake Lang sopping wet at his pitiful rally. Meanwhile a constant stream of my neighbors are walking by me, carrying in their respective donations. The people are good and we will win.

You and your wife drop your 6-year-old off at school. You just moved here. You see ICE terrorizing your new neighbors. You film them, as is your legal right. Your wife complies with orders. She is then shot in the head. You still have to pick up your child later today. This could be you.

🚨New preprint alert🚨 We used closed-loop optogenetics to causally test the importance of inhibitory spike timing in network function and found that manipulating PV+ cell theta phase locking in the dentate gyrus can shift seizure susceptibility (both ways!)
