While this is certainly good news, it’s perhaps good to put in perspective: European companies spend about 100 billion euros annually to reach European customers through Google and Meta. This is why we need European platforms. Also platforms with ads. So that we can stop forking over the margins

All of its internal context is basically just the wave document in its current state. Effectively at that point it can edit its own memories.

antirez@antirez.bsky.social · 3mo agoDeepSeek v4 Flash is able to use an EDIT tool I re-designed compared to what people normally use. The READ tool returns lines+tags, like: 1:f3_c int main(...), where the four chars are base64 crc of the line. So when there is to edit, there is no need to repeat the old line, just the tag.
The world’s largest sand battery got through Finland’s harshest winter in years. 2,000 tonnes of sand, heated to 500-600°C by cheap power, feeding district heating in Pornainen. And it worked. Result from one install: oil down 100%, emissions down 70%. Industrial process heat is the real prize.

DOOM.css is getting somewhere. Gameplay is pretty much done completely in JavaScript, but the whole rendering is 100% CSS. This map is 768 div's with 3D transforms. Added a nice spectator view as well which is literally just adding a couple of CSS custom properties override for the rendering.
Ever wondered why text never aligns perfectly? You set padding to 24px. You check it in dev tools. But visually it looks like 32px. The reason is invisible space above and below every text element. CSS includes it by default because of how line-height works.

A blog post about a visit to an English seaside town is written in ever-older forms of English until it becomes incomprehensible to us. Even though the whole thing is in English. I stopped understanding at 1400. A reminder that language isn't static.
