This is happening in Akita City too. Houses with gardens of trees and flowers being knocked down and replaced with smaller houses, concrete drives and car ports. Some have fake grass too. Then people complain about flooding....

All the new builds in my neighborhood are completely cement and rocks, no greenery whatsoever. Those houses are replacing homes that had multiple trees in a modest sized garden. The difference in temps is very obvious now.

I was sat right next to the Guardian letters desk, when they took a call from David Hockney asking if “picture letters” could be considered & whether sending them in by Fax would work. They found a way, and if you click you’ll see he got the standard “D Hockney, Bridlington” sign off

I don't know how Keir Starmer can wake up in the morning, see that pogroms have been taking place under his watch, that they are being fuelled by literal illegal activity on social media, and not make it his entire purpose to stop it. We know you're no politician, but are you not a lawyer?
