So we all agree this is obviously trying to make the franchise seem cool again so let's move past that... what fucking libraries don't already have a few copies of this franchise? Any library without it by now doesn't want it, let's be real

Both Dolly Parton and Tim Curry had such a genuine enthusiasm for performing that it was impossible not to love them for it, there were things more highly and lowly regarded in their bodies of work but both of them threw themselves into everything because it was pure joy for them and that rules

I wonder if it hadn't been cancelled, Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes might've done a good adaptation of Civil War. With how they were written, I could also see the show changing enough so Captain America would be pro-reg and Iron Man would be anti-reg.

Transmisogyny undergirds all misogynistic interactions. If you are willing to sacrifice trans women and girls, if you are willing to designate some women as acceptable vessels for unmitigated violence, then you forfeit all women in the end, regardless of any benefits you gain in the short term.

What do you do when you've launched a moral panic about transgender athletes in the WNBA, but there has never been an active trans player in the league? Simple: you start a conspiracy theory about every single woman on the court.

That's not really what she's doing at all. By adding the qualifier "by a celebrity" she's actually downplaying Parton's achievements, because, notably, Rowling was not a celebrity when she made her first few millions off Harry Potter. She's backhandedly dismissing Parton's importance.
