One takeaway from our ongoing meta-analysis of meat reduction interventions: We need higher-quality evidence. We've included 451 effect sizes from 162 studies so far. Only one effect size came from a study with all 5 quality markers shown below. #EASP2026

I tried this on one of our papers from 2021. It did a fantastic job! For example (see screenshot) it verified our reported sample size & response rate, and about 80 other reported numbers/statistics with descriptions of where, why, and how some numbers differed.

Sharing our latest endeavour here. How reproducible is your paper? @philipjakobbln.bsky.social and I built rigor.me to ease the burden of computational reproducibility. If you provide a paper, data and code, we execute it and tell you what works (and what fails). Beta is available now: rigor.me

for undergrads getting their degrees this Fall: if u're computationally savvy & wants to get into cog neuro -- instead of taking up lab manager / RA positions, why not come to Korea & get a master's degree instead? it will be all paid for w/ stipend, of coz. why would u pay for a master's degree??

Have you used Bayes factor to test point-null hypotheses in Hierarchical models and wondered: 1. Bridge sampling (BS) or Savage-Dickey density ratio (SDDR)? 2. If SDDR, which density estimation method? 3. How many MCMC samples? 4. What's the cost-benefit trade-off? This may be of interest to you.

How to best estimate Bayes factors for standard hypothesis tests? We compared bridge sampling and the Savage-Dickey density ratio. The latter does a good job in most constellations typical for experiments in cognitive psychology.

Scary stories about teens sell. The data tells a different story. After decades studying adolescent mental health, here's what I found: This isn't an anxious generation. It's a resilient one. Let's start treating them that way. go.ted.com/candiceodgers

This incident was my first realization of the difference between academia as it sees itself and academia as it acts in the world. (I know, i know. trust me I know. I was late and i am an idiot.)
