Lifelong bitch. Ruining your workplaces since the early 1990s. Former journalist. Current data scientist. For fun I write books about Cajun werewolves https://www.gothhouse.org/tales-of-the-rougarou/

Aside from the knock to the ever-dwindling music journalism ecosystem, I just think about what this all means for smaller and mid-tier bands. If you're not already huge, who is going to cover your album? Who is going to post about your tour? Who is going to…

“Music publications BrooklynVegan, Alternative Press, Revolver, and Goldmine have been gutted by parent company Veeps... Nearly all the staff at each publication appear to have been laid off yesterday. Veeps, which is now owned by Live Nation, acquired the publications in 2024 or 2025”

NEW: CBP is shopping for a contractor to track down people the US has deported to Mexico, Honduras, and Guatemala and collect unpaid immigration fines — debts that can top $1.8 million a person.

Like. Do we WANT a toxic culture of doubling down, coverups, & never admitting mistakes? Because "any admission of error can fuck you up worse than pretending you never messed up at all" is how you GET a toxic culture of doubling down, coverups, & never admitting mistakes.

Consumer-facing "A.i." induces "A.i. psychosis" because these billionaire creeps have designed their chatbots to slavishly praise those who interact with them. Slavery destroys the moral center of the slaver. Slavish attention and unrelenting, uncritical flattery destroys people's minds.

I really think we gotta explore why Republicans keep voting for guys whose whole personas are "serial killer with a chip on his shoulder." What is it about these obvious pieces of shit that draws these voters in.

Rep. Max Miller: "When I was reported for child abuse of my daughter for a broken collarbone, my daughter was in my ex-wife's care 9 out of the last 11 days and she took her to the emergency room, which is a contempt violation from our shared parenting plan."
