Comics, Music, Y2K Survivor, He/Him I drive a truck so you don’t have to

Chat, I was in a local scarfing establishment for breakfast this morning. On a couple of occasions, a waitress asked me, “would you like some more water/coffee, Friend?” Friend. That beats all Hell out of “Hon”, “Darlin’”, or whatever. I appreciated being called that so much.

Today is the birthday of cartoonist Jackie Ormes (Aug. 1, 1911-Dec. 26, 1985), the first Black woman to create a newspaper comic strip that was read nationally in the US. She created Torchy Brown in Dixie to Harlem, Torchy in Heartbeats & Patty-Jo ‘n’ Ginger. Patty Jo became a toy doll.

I tried to write a joke about pi but it just went on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on…

Damnit. This has been sitting out there for decades and someone else thought of it. What am I even doing with my life?
