I used to get yelled at when I suggested that maybe the culture around English football might be reinforcing some imperial nationalist values so just for the record, please look at how the army's current recruitment campaign makes this explicit.
I think a lot of people have not fully grasped the extent to which this government has openly committed to reorienting the whole of society around providing for the military.

Any time you post about criminal offences against the person there's a kind of person who immediately jumps to "I hope you reported it to the police" in the kind of imperious tone that suggests you're doing something wrong if you don't.
