In other Michigan news, the state looks set to elect it's first transgender lawmaker. Joanna Whaley won her Democratic primary and will compete in November for a state house seat, beating a primary opponent who tried and failed to disqualify her for not running under her deadname
It's been pointed out that NYC Mayor has exec powers outreaching most Govs & so "just do the thing" is possible for Mamdani in a way it isn't for most Dems, but I guess it just implies his predecessors just "didnt but could", so the question naturally leads to: what else is like this, even a little?

I get that it's not very aesthetically pleasing but I think this is good land use. That's pretty much all just swampland and marshland, you can't build or develop too much there. A big stadium and parking lots and a mall is about the max you can hope for. There's a reason it's not built up around!
