Was reading up some stuff that happened to one, and man... It's horrible to see people who are popular for whatever-the-reason, be seen either as more than what they are or sub-human, and in some cases, be used as a stepping stone to get what they want and abandon you... I just... I hate this.

I bought a ZoomFloppy and hooked it up to my laptop and one of my existing Commodore floppy drives. Not the most intuitive experience, but I managed to plough through the instructions and finally get it to back up the disks to D64 files that would work with Vice.
A lovely huge preservation update today! Thanks to @malcseventyfour.bsky.social, 15 previously unpreserved Commodore 64 educational titles from Grolier/Mindflight have now been recovered, including the long sought-after The Story of Miss Mouse and Rhyme Land. www.gamesthatwerent.com/2026/08/grol...
Really happy to be able to preserve these titles. Folks, if you have a collection of disks or tapes, do have a look through them to see if there’s anything that might need preserving. Hard to believe, but these sat on my shelf for 20 years before I realised how rare they were.

I think one thing that really makes me sad about Tales of Rebirth really fumbling dealing with racism, is it's one of the few pieces of media that actually acknowledges about internalizes prejudices are a thing and that people don't allow those to cloud their view of the world. Yet, it just fumbles.
I wonder how many people know the joys of the Peach Pie scene in Tales of Rebirth...

Data Ravel@dataravel.bsky.social · 8h agoThe anime aired in the Sunday morning slot, which is for children, so there was a limit to how dark it could get, but if they made something too light, then the horror aspect wouldn't work. They had to find a balance of doing something dark while not going too far.
Digimon Ghost Game often featured a way out of the main conflict, a way of balancing out the dark horror elements. Although there were episodes that didn't end that happily, there were some stories that went to the plot stage and went even further, but were canceled.
