"What are you thinking about in there? You always hide away when you begin thinking hard, and your shell is impossible to crack." He dipped her low and brought her back up, spinning her in a circle as he did so. She wasn't familiar with this dance, but he led with an expertise that could only be mastered from years at court.
"I - I'm coming to terms with the fact that I don't know where I stand in the world anymore. And that I have to rely on others, I can't do it alone." He cocked his head to the side as they continued to spin around the floor, the band beginning to pick up pace. "I'm surprised you admitted that, particularly to me."
She shrugged and leaned into his frame, bringing her cheek to his shoulder, her hand wrapped around the back of him. The soft curl of his hair fell around the collar of his tine shirt, shining in the candlelight.
They danced in silence for the rest of tune, and as they waltzed their final steps, Alwyn whispered to her "Wherever our paths may lead after this small adventure, I shall forever be glad we met, Moira." He gave her a small bow and kissed her hand, walking her over to Zekiriel. "I shall fetch us all some refreshments."
