so often lately I see the implication that trans people are brand new and need to be patient while people get used to the idea of our humanity. it always makes me think of this bit from the baldwin/buckley oxford debate

That sounded like a very emancipated statement, I suppose, to white people. They were not in Harlem when this statement was first heard. had a great chat this morning with my neighbor bus stop mom friend about the failures of the democratic party. didn't even get into trans stuff, this is our first foray beyond small talk. she's mad as hell too :)
