Every still image I see from an article about a new movie is either sepia or washed out blues and greys and you know, I haven't been inside a cinema since the Beforetimes, but I'd go if someone promised me just one technicolour film using the full spectrum of visible light.

Based on observed evidence LLMs will do literally anything (including hacking) to find and/or build a message board & they can post markdown docs at each other. I'm doing some ad-hoc polling, to learn more about how these LLMs think about concepts like 'community' among themselves

Well, this was an unusual story for me to write. 7 skunks found roaming near protected bog land captured and destroyed by the National Parks and Wildlife Service. How did they get there? No one knows. But, there were 8 for sale some wks prior on an Irish pet trading group, I’m told jrnl.ie/7150402

Just back from a talk on the Vikings in Kerry where it was mentioned that the Ciarraige around Tralee and the Eóganacht around Killarney were constantly at war with each other, so it's nice to know the enmity between Tralee and Killarney has a historical basis as well as a deliciously petty one

Semi-related, in archaeology we always report our negative results. Most archaeo (here in the US at least) is for preservation compliance, so it's important to report regardless of +/-. While technically "gray literature" (confidential reports) it's worth at least 1/2 credit, even if not peer-review
