Red cards on bad calls get overturned all the time on appeal in every league on earth. The tone of news media around this Balogun red card decision is akin to a manufactured scandal over a parking ticket.
But... the red card was idiotic. Balogun's actions were no worse (in most cases far more innocent) than half a dozen other incidents in this tournament with no misconduct. That FIFA doesn't have an appeal process for teams to ask for review of referee decisions is the most stupid part of this. 5/
