A humble academic proposal: let's not have stars. Everyone hired as an academic at a university is there to teach younger generations, to make new knowledge, to have that knowledge critically evaluated by others, and to act on collective insights. We do not need to designate some people as stars.

Some trans people can't grasp the idea of a trans woman transitioning because we want to be happy. I'm not here to "destroy the binary", to be "gender-fucky", or to be a revolutionary. I want to be my true self. I'm not trans to be a hero or for attention, I'm trans cause I was born that way.
"In a vacuum..." it's literally never in a vacuum bro, why don't you just say "if this was the My Little Pony world" that would be basically the same level of analytical fidelity as what you were going to say about the "vacuum" - like are you in space? No? Then no vacuum bro.
Stop letting people convince you that offloading the deeply human experiences of learning, of creating, of trying things and failing at them, is a privilege rather than a danger.
It really is never too late. I started at 33. Physically, all the stuff they said could only happen if you transitioned as a teen - it happened to me anyway. Life-wise, post transition I've gotten a doctorate, scored my ideal job, and found an amazing wife. It's literally never too late, y'all.
If you have transitioned later in life, please know how deeply you are needed here. Your story is the exact proof someone else needs to finally take their first step.
Four year investigation into Epstein proves bankers suck and consistently look the other way or aid and abet the crimes of the wealthy and powerful. Really takes politicians to need a four-year investigation to find that out. To the rest of us, that's just called "banks".
you should not tolerate it when your friends call themselves ugly ngl
here's a fun lil exercise for cis people: how many articles would a publication have to print calling for your extermination before you would expect people who care about you to stop giving them money? and how would you feel if their excuse for still supporting them is some fuckass crossword puzzle?
So Blacksky is having technical issues... and the staff is being extremely communicative, clear about what's going on, clear about timelines, lots of folks users can reach out to... like, there's a really, really good reason I've started teaching Blacksky as an ideal example of platform development.
Well... the pool IS still reflecting... more in a metaphorical sense now....
the Reflecting Pool today is a sad sight
Pre-orders start this week for my slow slide into madness
Cis lady: "apparently my she/her pronouns are fake now, lol" Me: "wait, I didn't know you were trans" Cis lady: "I'm not, but they're all 'pronouns aren't real' now" Me: "I... feel... like you're trying to be supportive?" Cis lady: "yeah! trans rights!" Me: "this... is a confusing way to do it"
I know this is going to come as a big surprise, but trans people are actually the ones who get to decide what treatment is gentle to the transsexual and what’s just optics bullshit
I think that not only is this good politics, but the stability of American society depends on it. Liberal American normies are out for blood, but *everyone* is in an anti-system mood. If we don't feed that beast some sacrifices, it'll find someone who can, and those sacrifices will be innocent.
Chaperoning a preschool trip to the aquarium and one of the other dads who is vaguely familiar with what I do comes up to me and goes “man I sure hope we get some Nuremberg-style trials at the end of all this”
Going to become an anti-gambling scold because honestly at this point that's directly opposing the patriarchy. Sports betting has driven so many men to horrible habits and horrible ways of treating their families and the people around them.
Reminder that we published an extensive interview with a former editor at The New York Times who laid out, in detail, how the paper's pushing of anti-trans bigotry was both very intentional and directed from the very top of the organization. The NYT plays a direct and major role in trans genocide:
'A directive from above': Former NYT editor lays out how the paper pushes anti-trans bigotry
In this in-depth interview, former New York Times editor Billie Jean Sweeney details how the paper shifted towards openly promoting anti-trans hatred, how some staff tried to stop it, how it's directe...

Things like seemingly harmless NYT consumption are big deals to trans people because transphobia, despite being intense and escalating these days, is an oppression often rendered invisible. Trans people are used to being abandoned by cis people, so even small abandonments have an impact.
JK Rowling funding her trans exterminationist campaigns by selling children's books to liberals 🤝 the NYT funding their trans exterminationist campaigns by selling puzzle games and recipes to liberals (and also for both, cis people will get really upset at trans people asking them not to)
In other words, NYT is increasingly becoming a gaming and recipe company, with revenue from that business helping subsidize the higher costs of their journalism (which has been weaponized in favor of trans genocide). They depend on liberals not caring enough to boycott them.
"turning down the temperature" is quickly becoming my least favorite liberal phrase
Playboy being anti-incel is 0% surprising if you've ever actually read the articles, tbh
Oh good, there's people making the Billy Quizboy jokes about Jennings already, it's important that someone did that.
Let’s be clear here, when scientists say mistakes were made at the start of the pandemic, we DO NOT mean that we did too much. We mean not socially distancing quickly enough, not making tests widely available, and not acknowledging COVID is airborne and distributing N95 masks to everyone.
the real victims of the new york times' targeted campaign against trans people are cis people who like to play wordle
It DOES get legitimately confusing. But then again, how can they be sure if my default "leave him" response is serious or a bit? Stalemate.
I have been on this Earth for many cycles now, and I still can never tell when a straight friend legitimately hates their partner or is just doing a thing.
Surprise, cishet white dude whose entire career is based on knowing random useless shit Ken Jennings turns out to be a snarky transphobic asshole, film at 11
Proposal: we shut down sports forever, for everyone, and jail everyone involved in sports betting on an island. That we then sink.
You people keep talking about sports, I'm going to go back to shouting at people about fat positivity, thanks.
Our daily university newsletter routinely goes to spam, and let me tell you, it ain’t the spam filter’s fault. The spam filter is working *just fine*
Fatphobic people baffle me, it’s like… what, you don’t want a beautiful, voluptuous human being to worship all the time? You’re afraid of how cosy and soft and warm they are? You hate being able to spend hours just kissing all their curves and shapes? You coward, you buffoon, you clown.
