This is something I think even our community doesn’t fully appreciate. The gay marriage “debate” was just existing bigotry the perpetrators could slink away from when things shifted. This shit is people actively accelerating and legally causing a genocide that people are choosing to join for profit.

what does the media landscape look like when transphobia becomes as gauche to upper class liberals as other bigotries are? how are these careers and institutions kept when association with them becomes a black mark on one's reputation?

But folks aren't despite the fact that our system does give disproportionate power to rural areas. But instead of taking that as the rules of the game as it exists, and actually organizing, we complain about it.
In other words, NYT is increasingly becoming a gaming and recipe company, with revenue from that business helping subsidize the higher costs of their journalism (which has been weaponized in favor of trans genocide). They depend on liberals not caring enough to boycott them.
