media when maga wins an election: we must travel the country and speak to these voters and extend empathy to them and give credence to their bigotry and false beliefs media when the left wins an election: is this the end of the american experiment

i did not know that being trans was a possibility until my late teens. we have informed consent now instead of RLE. we can prevent HIV. mental health treatment has come leaps and bounds. there are a million medical improvements, period

Food, man. Food is so much better than it was in 1986. All of it. Poor-people food, restaurant food, fresh food, frozen food. Food is just a hell of a lot better.

air travel is one of those experiences that has gotten monotonically worse over my entire lifetime

question though: has *anything* in the last 40+ years genuinely gotten *better*?

like, there's *more* stuff, sure, but is any of it *better*?

I saw yesterday that some right-wing outlets were running stories about me, which I’m used to. But this time I’m going to say something about it, because these were framed to imply that I was aligned with their own transphobia. ⬇️

just said this on another post but it bears repeating: the thing about continuing to give money to any jk rowling properties or the nyt is not that they’re shitty about trans people, which they are. it is that both of these entities MATERIALLY CONTRIBUTE to the legal challenges to trans rights

getting kinda tired of ppl asking my age. not for the typical reason, but bc ppl freak out when they find out im not in my 20s. someone said it was "creepy" that i looked younger than my 30s. like... what does that mean

This is something I think even our community doesn’t fully appreciate. The gay marriage “debate” was just existing bigotry the perpetrators could slink away from when things shifted. This shit is people actively accelerating and legally causing a genocide that people are choosing to join for profit.

yea this is not just a bigotry at a social level but a massive industry that huge amounts of professionals are flocking to as their other sources of revenue dry up. and it is not only an industry but a bubble on the verge of bursting. once that happens, where will they go?

A very serious Rural Politico once told me "Dems have to go to farmer meetings! We gotta be where the people are!" I was in fact in a farmer meeting at that very moment! So I live-texted him the meeting. They were complaining that they want indentured workers that they don't have to pay or feed.

There would be more pushback if folks left of center were more serious about outreach. But folks aren't despite the fact that our system does give disproportionate power to rural areas. But instead of taking that as the rules of the game as it exists, and actually organizing, we complain about it.

In other words, NYT is increasingly becoming a gaming and recipe company, with revenue from that business helping subsidize the higher costs of their journalism (which has been weaponized in favor of trans genocide). They depend on liberals not caring enough to boycott them.

I love not living in the UK so I can say shit like “Beira’s Place is kind of like if a reproductive care clinic was run by the guys who wear suicide vests to the Planned Parenthood” and they just have to sit and spin on it. Amerikkkans must declare infinite obscenity war on British TERF confederacy

i get the sentiment that we should starve this kinda shit of oxygen but u guys have been ignoring this bigotry for like 10 years and now these ppl control all branches of government so. idk maybe it's time for a new strategy folks
