Christmas has arrived early! The HRRR-based SPC Mesoanalysis, and RRFS North America Domain forecasts postprocessed by the mesoanalysis routines, are on NOMADS! It’s in its parallel evaluation until early October. Then it’ll be operational.

I am the latter.

Kind use of the term "residents". Most of them have children. From my experience. That's why they hate ChoMos so much. But "residents" is too loose. Call them what they are, "Prisoners".

It remains to be seen how far the east shift can continue - so far Lowell is on track with NHC and most guidance, but the NHC forecast diverges beyond tonight as other models show more of a NE storm motion.

USAF recon finding Lowell slightly weaker but still a major, category 3 hurricane as it moves north. Models have continued to trend a little to the right and the threat for significant wind gusts (perhaps to hurricane force) have increased for Kauai County, particularly at higher elevations.

While not as impactful as the outage during an early August outbreak, it's another concerning sign.
