"Everyone does it" is not a reasonable reason to engage in helping the torment nexus feed on our suffering.

I will repeat: Valve has explicitly stated that the AI disclosure is for user-facing content like art, sound, etc. The disclosure is explicitly NOT intended to be used for things like code editing. If you believe the latest reports, 94% of studios are using AI in various ways[www.videogameschronicle.com]; nowhere near 94% of studios are using the Steam disclosure, precisely for this reason.
As we have also said before: unfortunately, many people do not understand the Steam disclosure rules, and consequently, if you DO use Valve's disclosure, many people will immediately assume that your game incorporates genAI content (again, things such as art, sound and narrative writing.) I would genuinely prefer if Valve did require our limited usage of AI to be disclosed. Then many other developers would need to disclose as well, and then maybe, just maybe, there would no longer be an assumption that an AI disclosure == AI content. But that is unfortunately not the reality of the situation today.
The accusation that we are "hiding", when we are literally one of the only developers publicly discussing our AI usage DESPITE not being required by Valve to do so, is simply unfair. I understand why people who are vehemently anti-AI wish that everyone using it would use the Steam disclosure. But that's not how the disclosure is intended to work, and if you are telling us you don't like it, you are telling the wrong people.
