We already have an AI kill switch: cut power to servers. Really want to talk existential threat? Fine. We humans have many ways to blow things up. Like data centers. Panicky discourse assumes the first priority is protect tech company investments and expand their businesses. But why should it be?
It’s very simple and it’s been said over and over but I guess it needs saying continuously: if you deem one group too small to have equal rights you are enabling fascism, not fighting it. The people saying Dems are GREAT on trans rights are not paying attention and/or saying stuff like this.

Here’s the thing. When a human wastes my time, I can project qualities onto them that activates my empathy. When a machine wastes my time, there Is no empathy guiding my reaction. Over time, I risk becoming less empathetic with human foibles. Machine bad.
