federal rule was never finalized, so clinics' medicaid funding isn't at stake right now. in rule they directly say that there's nothing they can do if states provide their own funding like they do with regards to abortion

So who is that direct care access fund money going to go to if all the major clinics curtailed their programs? they're not going to give up their federal funding for a slice of a 15 million dollar pie.

"Mayor Mamdani has *directed the Law Department* to be ready to respond, including potentially litigate, threats to end gender-affirming care for *youth* and adults from the federal government." Is this not at least enforcing the law to protect trans youth, including with hospital shut-downs?

BREAKING: The judge in the Oregon v. Kennedy case has granted summary judgment for the plaintiffs. This is the case dealing with the Kennedy declaration attempting to institute national standards of care for trans youth and referring providers to the HHS OIG to exclude them from Medicaid.

Germany, Austria and Switzerland issued a massive joint report endorsing gender affirming care for trans youth and heavily criticizing the Cass report and this is how Azeen reports it yet again. She never wrote an article on it or gave its authors a massive cover story like Cass.

Advancing anti-trans legislation is advancing fascism. Fight for trans rights by sending a letter to your New York reps demanding they protect Trans Rights.

If that’s the right John Koenig and Blake Sanchez, the compiler of the main report has degrees in English and Business, and the compiler of the executive summary has a bachelor’s degree in neuroscience. ...such science.

If you open the anti-trans HHS report’s appendix in NotePad, you’ll see that it was compiled by Alex Byrne. The appendix is a rigorous, scientific overview of systematic reviews. Alex Byrne is an MIT philosophy professor with no apparent background in science, let alone expertise in it.

Screenshot of XML information open in notepad, showing “Alex Byrne” under the creator tag..

Notably missing: Harvard, Yale, Stanford, Columbia. Kind of mindblowing to me given what the substance of this letter is: "government should not retaliate against law firms"

UC Berkeley Law@ucberkeleylaw.bsky.social · last yr.

Dean Chemerinsky and other #lawschool deans "speak as legal educators, responsible for training the next generation of lawyers, in condemning any government efforts to punish lawyers or their firms based on the identity of their clients or for their zealous lawful and ethical advocacy."

After publishing this story, which features a picture of the protest at Children's National in DC, I have been informed that moments ago, Childrens National in DC has resumed transgender care. The hospital protests worked! Keep doing them!

1. Good news: Multiple hospitals are resuming trans care under 19 years old after Trump's trans ban was blocked temporarily in court. Writer Mira Lazine reports on hospitals in Arizona, Michigan, and Virginia restarting care. Not all hospitals have, though. Subscribe to support our journalism.

On the same day the national park service busy erasing trans people from history, HRC axed is entire trans justice initiative and laid off a bunch of amazing black and brown trans folks. Absolutely despicable, HRC showing us who they've always been. Help out here. www.gofundme.com/f/support-lg...
