Across “House of 70’s” and “Bye Bye Johnny Viola,” Chris Connelly moves through two charged moments in Lou Reed’s history, first inhabiting the grease and nervous glamour of 1970s New York, then tracing the colder aftermath of John Cale’s departure from The Velvet Underground.

i’m baffled when people are surprised by POC folks’ involvement in post-punk/art rock/new wave/alt in the 80’s, like do they think the crooked, Dutch angle perspective of the music didn’t partially come from the Kafkaesque reality we as POC live?

The once-outstanding Baltimore Sun has switched to AI slop political cartoons on its editorial page. They are as ghastly as you would imagine. The Sun is now owned by the CEO of the rightwing Sinclair TV Empire. He turned it MAGA. The paper lost 25% of its circulation this year.
