The data presents a stark picture of an agency going through a period of total dysfunction. As of June, net application backlogs have risen by 80% since Trump took office.

Exactly. I am tired of seeing the “I always knew”/“their work was actually bad” takes whenever allegations emerge. Sometimes—often, actually!—bad people find their way into good spaces and make good things. And you’re not better than the folks who were taken advantage of for “always knowing”

The thing that will make me lean in further as a facilitator is strong player choices. The thing that will most drive me to reach for a distraction as a fellow player is weak/no decision making. Do your character choices have consequences? Hopefully! That would be the “role play” part.

In improv, we have to teach people to stop making milquetoast decisions and to care strongly about what’s happening in the scene. I see so many players making decisions where nothing happens You’re playing people who go out and do things. So go out and do things.
People sometimes ask me "why do you, a middle-aged man, own multiple wizard staffs" as though the problem is that I'm too old for that sort of thing, when if anything the opposite is true. Show me the 22-year-old who can convincingly rock a length of gnarled oak.

Friday morning, I was gardening when I checked my phone. A request had gone out for help. For 25+ hours, ICE had been laying siege to a quiet neighborhood in Frederick, MD. Community members were afraid, some didn’t want to leave their homes. ICE vehicles seemed to be lurking on every corner.
