✨☀️ Unlike many other medieval chapter houses, the ribbed vaulting of Southwell Minster's C13th chapter house doesn't have a central pier. It's vaulting hovers over the space like a starburst during first light. 📸 by me.
The crypt of Lastingham Priory in Yorkshire, taken c. 1900. The late c. 11th crypt has a nave, aisles and quire, and is as big as the church above. It is built of spolia from an earlier monastery on the site.

The garden of my local parish church, St Mary's Walthamstow, was looking very lovely the other day. The church is c. 12th-16th, with some unfortunate early c. 19th gothic revival refenestration.
Recently the island of Mousa became home to Shetland ponies once again again. It is a joy to see the next generation of these beautiful horses standing by the iconic Mousa broch #Shetland

St Mary Magdalene chapel in Cambridge. It was built in the early 12th century as the chapel of a leper hospital. The hospital is long gone, but the chapel is preserved as a museum.
