it is my understanding from history that specifically persecuting educated professionals and making it much harder for college graduates to find jobs that will allow them to become professionals is a perfectly safe thing to do that never ends unpredictably
it’s good for social stability when, while the overall economy is doing OK, a huge number of educated professionals and students who held or wanted jobs they were passionate about have suddenly been pushed into unemployment and precarity by a government that’s openly hostile to them, right

A fair amount of people become leftists (online tendency) so that they’ll never have to think through anything being hard or costly or uncertain, and fighting a war is always, even when it’s forced on you by invasion, all of these things.
