i just want to cry. i have literally just spent the last 6 hours responding to email after email of people begging for rent money or for me to point them in the direction of help, which does not exist. please @governorwalz.mn.gov. we need an eviction moratorium. there is no other solution.

Congratulations to Jamal Osman who was elected for the 4th time as Council Member in Ward 6. Jamal has been a steadfast leader for his community and has worked hard this election cycle to lift up candidates who want to fight for working families across the city.

Worried about fitting in a trip to the polls in a busy schedule? Have no fear - in Minnesota it’s a right for voters to have paid time off work to vote! So, today for lunch, treat yourself to bringing back the progressive majority on City Council.

There is so much at stake in this election - and not just for those of us who can vote. Many people in our city will feel the impact of the results for years to come. Read this letter from an undocumented Gen Z Minnesotan and share it with your friends and family before you cast your votes.

A quote: "I can't vote, but my existence is political because I'm undocumented, so I can't sit this race out." followed by the text, "There is something at stake in this election for everyone who makes Minneapolis home. Not just those of us who can cast a vote." Mpls for the Many logo at the bottom.

People are taking down their Jacob Frey yard signs *as we speak.* (For real! Heard firsthand from a Senior Caucus comrade yesterday about one such household! 😅.) Don’t let up in sharing why you’re supporting the Slate for Change—it’s @dewayneforminneapolis.com + Omar + Jazz for me—we can do this❣️

I’m asking everyone to vote for a new Mayor by Tuesday and rank all 3 of Omar Fateh, Dewayne Davis, and Jazz Hampton in whichever order you prefer. I’ve worked at City Hall for the last 4 years and from my personal experiences I believe the City desperately needs a new mayor. Long thread 🧵

In just the last few weeks, we've seen Frey’s failure to deliver public safety & accountability to all residents: MPD failed to protect Mariah Samuels MPD refuses to cooperate with Lussier & Moturi audits Mayor Frey deleting his calls and texts Mayor Frey cutting the budget of the City Auditor

Title Text: "No Reform, No Accountability, No More Frey" over the text, "In the last few weeks alone, there have been multiple examples of Frey and MPD failing to provide safety and accountability to Minneapolis residents: MPD failed to protect Mariah Samuels; MPD refuses to cooperate with Allison Lussier & Davis Moturi investigations; Mayor Frey deleting his calls and texts; Mayor Frey cutting the budget of the City Auditor" next to a photo of Mayor Frey.

Frey has worked hard for developers, but the results haven’t trickled down to working families who rent. New research from experts at the U shows that “over 80% of lower-income Minneapolis renters were cost-burdened in 2023.” Over half of Minneapolis residents are renters and Frey is failing them.

Yasmin Hyder is a max donor to a bunch of Minneapolis candidates, including Jacob Frey, Elizabeth Shaffer and Lydia Millard. Her 14 McDonald’s are also currently under a consent decree with the state of Minnesota after “sexual abuse of a 14-year-old worker” at one of her restaurants.

Barf. Here's the "Team Mpls" plan to “address climate change.” No mention of getting off fossil fuels. Nothing on electrification. Nothing on renewable energy, transit or building housing near transit. Just trees and carbon capture(?). This fluff could have been written by the Koch Bros (1/2)

This election season, there have been numerous instances of Frey allies being indicted or charged with breaking the law. Today, Shelley Madore was fined for trying to trick voters into thinking she had the DFL endorsement. Earlier this year, Lydia Millard violated fair campaign practices.
