If you have a Gmail account, you need to read this. Google's AI now scans your emails and attachments, bank statements, tax files, medical letters, all of it. It turned on by default, and there's a class-action lawsuit over how. Here are 5 moves to shut it off, the switch is hidden in two places:

Tim Curry and Dolly Parton have taught us not only that you should be bigger, weirder, gayer, and freakier, but also that those qualities are what people will love about you. The things that make you strange and amazing are the things that will resonate with other strange and amazing people

Imagine being talented and beautiful and rich and famous and still the most noteworthy thing about you is how good a person you are.

🚨BREAKING: Our union of over 12,000 baristas are officially calling for a Starbucks boycott. Read this statement penned by Starbucks workers on why a boycott from ALL customers, allies, and organizations is necessary to fight back against corporate greed:

BOYCOTT STARBUCKS is written inside a zig-zaggy speech bubble against crumbled paper. Beside it are the Starbucks Workers United logo and an image of a coffee cup being poured out.We, the 12,000 and growing members of Starbucks Workers United, call on everyone who stands with working people to boycott Starbucks until they finalize a contract with union baristas and stop union-busting.
What we’re fighting for is simple: a minimum $17/hr wage, enough hours to live on, better staffing in our stores, and basic workplace protections. Every year, our living costs rise but our wages don’t keep up – a growing pressure many American workers are feeling as corporate greed accelerates unchecked in our country.
Starbucks is banking on customers' blind loyalty to the integrity and values this company once stood for in order to keep squeezing them for profits. At a time when working-class people across the country are struggling in a challenging economy, it is no longer possible to be both a Starbucks customer and in support of workers; choosing to spend money at Starbucks is choosing a law breaking corporation over the baristas who make your coffee everyday exactly as you ask for it.
Starbucks has violated U.S. labor law more than any other company in modern history–the NLRB and its judges have found that Starbucks committed hundreds of labor violations and there are currently more than 550 unresolved unfair labor practice charges still pending against the company. Instead of finalizing a fair and reasonable union contract, Starbucks has repeatedly demonstrated a lack of care for the workers who fuel the company’s profits by wasting millions of dollars on AI and technology that doesn’t work, launching countless gimmicky drinks designed to distract from real problems, and inventing pointless policies that do nothing but make our jobs harder.
This ongoing, irrational behavior by Starbucks and its refusal to settle a fair union contract with workers leaves us with no other choice than to call for a boycott. We know when working people stand up together, we win.
No Contract? No Coffee.

"If trans people want a boycott of The New York Times, where's the call to do so?" Here is a declaration laying out how the NYT is a key driver of trans genocide, why boycotts work and why anyone who gives a damn about trans lives and rights must boycott The New York Times.

Boycott The New York Times

For years The New York Times has relentlessly pushed anti-trans propaganda, playing a significant role in the escalating genocide against us. It's far past time for a call to action: anyone who cares ...

I also always have commissions open. No one has ever regretted getting something custom from me, and I absolutely love doing them. Whether it's a cool prop or costume piece, a modded nerf blaster, or custom version something. Whatever you dream up, I can probably make it DM me and we can talk

A thing that happens a lot in TTRPG realm: White designer does something kinda shitty culturally TTRPG discourse spends all energy trying to redeem/explain/reform/understand said designer No energy left for POC designers already doing better stuff.

Humoring the fiction that he is promoting, that the rocks are sort of person-like, and isn't having a soul more or less the same kind of thing as having extremely realistic googly eyes glued to you, it's just a difference of degree, really, is just providing intellectual cover for bad behavior.

People were performing for other people and making art for audiences big and small long before blue sky or tiktok People also worried about how others perceived them for just as long I hate dunking on the popular thing, but platitudes about making art are almost never useful for making art

BTW, you'll never see something like this listed in my etsy, but I am always happy to do commissions, and my dms are open. What's better than a one of a kind, passes most safety checks*, and fools people at a glance, sword? Lots of things, but it's still cool *check your faire's rules, obviously

Sword I made as a gift/commission for a friend (she insisted on paying me) Guess what? It's not eva foam. It's all poplar and mdf in fact. I do really like wood working, and for the graphite trick, a harder surface is needed to work best

A sword hanging on a wall. The blade is shiny dark silver; the crossgaurd and pommel are brass/bronze/gold or whatever, with some knotwork engraved in them; the hilt is wrapped in brown cord
